1901 Chester UK Coronation Spoon Sterling Silver 925 Antique
This spoon is a replica of the English coronation spoon which dates back to the 12th century and is part of the Crown Jewels. It was made in 1901 and has the associated (now closed) Chester assay office hallmarks on the side of the spoon. The maker is difficult to make out, but their name starts with the letter J. The spoon is fully decorated with chased lines in the bowl and details that continue all the way through the piece. At approximately 6" it is larger than the smaller miniature versions.
