Framed 1881 Seal Hunt Print from Harpers Weekly Victorian Artwork Black & White
Up for grabs is this print from an 1881 issue of Harpers Weekly depicting a seal hunt. The detail in the artwork is incredible and brutal at the same time. I am personally glad that these practices are a part of history. The piece is beautifully framed in a frame that probably dates to the 1930s. It is matted slightly off center so that the page would not have to be trimmed to fit into the frame. The frame itself is slightly out of square, which is an indication of it's age. The overall package is quite nice and depicts a time which has gladly passed. Do not miss the opportunity to add this unique piece to your collection.
